Governor Ododo, Dapo, Oyebanji, Others Present as President Tinubu Commissions Lagos Red Line Rail Project
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has today in company of Governors of Kogi, Ekiti, Ogun States and other dignitaries commissioned 37km red rail line with 13 stations, integrating key bus terminals at Oyingbo, Yaba, Oshodi, Ikeja, Ebute Metta, Iju and Iddo in Lagos State.
The project which has connection to the international and domestic wings of the Murtala Muhammed Airport was initiated and completed by the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to ease commuting within Lagos metropolis.
The host Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his wife, Ibijoke, the Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hazmat, state commissioners and aides, alongside Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), former Lagos Governor Akinwunmi Ambode were some of the dignitaries that welcomed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the state.
Hillcrest tv correspondent reliably gathered that the train has the capacity to transport 1.1m people daily when fully operational.
Governor Babajide Sanwo’olu had earlier noted through his social media handles that the project is not only about improving the city’s mobility but about reshaping the urban landscape thereby setting a new pace for development.
