Gov. Aiyedatiwa-“I Don’t Intend Removing All The Appointees”
Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has made it clear that his government has no intention of doing away with the Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) that the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu established lately. In a meeting with the former members of the LGA and LCDA caretaker committees, Aiyedatiwa made this statement in Akure.
In advance of the forthcoming local government elections in the State, he stated that the administration will shortly form transition committees for the 18 Local Government Areas and the 33 Local Council Development Areas.
He contends that one of the late former governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s achievements that have to be protected is the establishment of the LCDAs.
The governor informed the 255 former appointees that their inauguration and the assumption of office had been prohibited by the position party’s legal action and the ensuing court injunction.
He said that more work was being done to settle the legal matter through a political resolution that the court had approved.
He further stated that transition committees would be established and all mistakes in the list of appointees would be fixed after the matter was ultimately removed from the court.
The former appointees were asked by Aiyedatiwa to show greater loyalty to the party in their local government districts for the advancement of the APC and the growth of our family, we must unite as one large family. Furthermore, he did say that there is no division in the party.
