Lion killed Zookeeper in OGUN State
Tragedy struck at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Wildlife Park in Abeokuta, Ogun State, when a lion attacked and killed its 35-year-old handler, Babaji Daule, from Bauchi State. The incident occurred on Saturday evening.
According to Omolola Odutola, the Police Public Relations Officer, the Chief Security Officer of the library reported the incident to the divisional police officer, which was later escalated to the state command office. Babaji Daule was a trained handler of the male lion at the zoological garden.
This shocking event raises concerns about the safety protocols in place at the wildlife park. The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the incident, and an investigation is likely to follow.
