Governor Ododo Approves N72,500 as New Minimum Wage
After due consultations with organised labour and other necessary agencies, Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has approved the immediate implementation of Seventy-two thousand, five hundred nairas as a new minimum wage for civil servants in the state.
Governor Ododo has also direct the suspension of all taxation elements attached to the new minimum wage for workers for the period of 12 months.
Hillcrest TV also exclusively gathered that the implementation of the consequential adjustments has been ratified which is to take effect immediately.
Recalled that the state government in readiness to align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration recently constituted a high-powered committee to immediately work out acceptable living wage for Kogi State workers.
Governor Ododo has continued to demonstrate the political will to ameliorate hardship amongst the people of the state due to the removal of fuel subsidies and the global economic downturn.
