Court Orders Yahaya Bello to Appear Over ₦110bn Fraud Allegations
A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory has issued a public summons against former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, compelling him to appear in court on October 24. Justice Maryanne Anenih’s order follows an application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The key issues centers around 16-count charges alleging criminal breach of trust worth ₦110.4bn with Co-defendants named Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu.
The EFCC claims inability to serve Bello with the charges filed since September 24 which makes Justice Maryanne Anenih order that the public summon be published in a widely circulating newspaper and paste copies to Bello’s last known address and court premises.
