KOGI SOCIAL MEDIA AWARDS: DR USMAN BAGS KOGI BEST INSTITUTION HEAD AWARD, COMMENDS CONVENERS OVER CONSISTENCY
The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman has been awarded as “Kogi Best Institution Head”for his outstanding performance and in recognition of his consistent presence online and numerous impacts created through the Kogi Social Media Space.
The award, in its Seventh edition held on Saturday 3rd February, 2024 at the Majesty International College Hall, Lokoja was presented to Dr. Usman along with winners of other categories.
Dr. Usman who was represented by Mr. Tairu Momoh chaired the annual event themed ‘Social Media: Influence on Education’ commended the convener, Alhaji Dansofo Usman Jnr for his enduring initiatives and consistency over the years and for avoiding distractions just as he appreciated his efforts towards promoting online businesses which he said has helped online vendors to thrive effortlessly within and outside Kogi State.
He charged invited guests and members of the social media community to never stop supporting the convener’s initiatives morally, financially and otherwise; aimed at attracting national and international attention.
Dr. Usman expressed gratitude to the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and all who have supported him in his work pledging to continue doing more with utmost integrity and commitments.
The guest speakers at the ceremony, Miss Endurance Abuka Ojochide and Hon. Promise Emmanuel dissected the positive and negative impacts of social media on the lives of social media handlers.
Miss Ojochide who spoke about the power of social media to build brands and create visibility for individuals and businesses highlighted the importance of engaging in comment sessions which according to her, will boost visibility and social media followers amongst others.
Hon. Emmanuel discussed the dark side of social media, highlighting the rise of cyberbullying and anxiety just as he urged social media users to take care of their mental health.
Earlier, the convener of the awards, Alhaji Dansofo Usman appreciated invited guests and audience for gracing the 7th Edition of Kogi social media awards just as he promised more interesting editions ahead.
The event featured a lively and engaging panel discussion, with Dr. Usman, Hon Adejoh Samuel, and other distinguished guests sharing their insights on various topics.
The discussion covered the latest trends on social media and its effect; utilizing social media platforms positively and the effect of indecent dressing amongst others.
