Kogi First Lady Commends Nigeria’s First Lady Over Intervention in Education
Kogi’s First Lady, Mrs Sefinat Usman Ododo has lauded the the Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu for her inventiveness intended at improving the atmosphere of learning and promoting access to education for Nigerian children under the Renewed Hope Initiative.
Her Excellency, Mrs. Sefinat Ododo is also the Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative in Kogi State. She gave the commendation at the flag-off of the distribution of writing materials to students and pupils of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) International Children School in Abuja by Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu.
Mrs Ododo who described the Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu as a true mother for taking a step in ensuring that students and pupils are encouraged to enroll and stay in schools with the distribution of exercise books to them under her renewed Hope Initiative, said that the initiative will enhance learning in schools and reduce the menace of out of school children especially among female children in Nigeria.
Her Excellency, Mrs Ododo Ahmed further highlighted the breathtaking impact of outreaches by Senator Oluremi Tinubu such as the Alternative School Programme and donation of writing materials to school pupils, noting that the donation of exercise books by the nation’s First Lady, is a worthwhile gesture towards improving access to education and a significant contribution to human capital development.
According to her, “I am very happy to be a part of Her Excellency’s Renewed Hope Initiative in reaching out to Nigerian children who are in need of a role model and a source of inspiration like our mother, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
“She has been a true mother and a role model for our nation, and this gesture will go along way in encouraging more students and pupils to enroll and stay focused in schools.
“It will also inspire all First Ladies in the country to do more in advancing access to education across the states in Nigeria,” Mrs Ododo averred.
The Kogi State’s First Lady said she was particularly delighted by the passion and dedication demonstrated by Oluremi Tinubu in promoting access to education and for making women and children focal points of the Renewed Hope Initiative.
She held that Kogi in no distant time will continually enjoy the seed that is being sowed by the present administration with the building and maintenance of the state of the art schools constructed across the state.
Mrs. Ododo noted that the renewed hope administration has redefined the architecture and environment of quality education, assuring that her support remain unyielding for all activities of the Renewed Hope Initiative in Nigeria especially in Kogi State where her pet project is also supporting indigent women and children through formal and vocational education as well as empowerment for widows, orphans and People Living With Disability.
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu plans to distribute about 2 million exercise books across the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory under the education component of the Renewed Hope Initiative.
