AFCON 2024: Super Eagles Will Lift 4th African Cup – Kogi FA Chairman Analyzed
Hassan Wada, the chairman of the Kogi State Football Association, is confident that Nigeria’s Super Eagles will prevail in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) competition on Sunday.
While there are no minnows in today’s football, Wada told TalkFooty in Abidjan that he has no concern that Cote D’viore, who he refers to as “accidental finalists,” will lose to the Nigerian national side.
The fervent football official revealed that he has made a few visits to the Super Eagles camp to reassure the players of Kogi supporters’ unwavering support.
“It just so happens that Kogi state is home to Olorunleke Ojo, the lone Super Eagles player. He is Enyimba FC’s captain and goalie. Olorunleke hails from a family of football players. his spouse.
A member of the Kogi State Football Association is Tosin Ojo. Adejoh Musa, the Super Eagles’ head security officer, is a board member of Kogi State FA.
“We will definitely be motivated to improve the caliber of football in the state as a result of the team’s victory on Sunday,” he stated.
Speaking about the Super Eagles’ unsteady pre-AFCON preparations, Wada claimed the national squad had perfected the ability of “mode switch.”
“We must not undermine the caliber of our national team. The Super Eagles are a world-class brand, not a regional one.
“There is no greater side in Africa when it comes to football competitions than Nigeria. We are able to mentally shift from qualifying to tournament mentality when we attend tournaments. At this point, the friendlies and qualification modes have been replaced with tournament mode.
“If you take the time to examine the caliber of the Nigerian national team, you will find that, with the exception of one or two players, the majority are players for elite teams in elite leagues. The Nigerian Super Eagles always have enough troops to complete the task at hand.
“The Super Eagles have won the African Nations Cup three times, participated in the semifinals seventeen times, taken home silver four times, and finished in third place eight times, if you look at our record. That’s no little accomplishment. With God’s grace, we will remind Nigerians and the world that we are the Super Eagles on Sunday. We have a strong team that knows how to win.
